Bez Hall

These pieces are a part of my final year graduate collection ‘The Comfort of Stone’. The project is about exploring my identity as a Butch Lesbian, and how I relate to vulnerability within the context of external materials. Typically, I make work that is abstract and open to interpretation, but it is always supported by theoretic research. When working on this project, I was gently inspired by the writings of Eli Clare, Leslie Feinberg, Mel Y Chen, and Kate Eichhorn. My practice spans over a few different disciplines, but I mainly create publications using lo-fi image making processes, which I then elevate to a place of polished execution to further add material value to whichever sentiment I am aiming to express. These images are part of a larger publication from within this project, titled 'still, life?'.
