I had originally another submission in mind but then, reflecting on this period of isolation and fear I decided to submit something that spoke of my artistic experience at the moment. The lockdown as been an opportunity to go back to the most basic skills and to indulge in the comfort of what I do best and the subject that I miss the most. These are drawings of various online sittings, portraiture is more of an empathy exercise than drawing practice for me, and often created a connection with the model even if there was a continent apart between us
